Mamasons, being the home to Europe’s first Filipino Ice Cream parlour, we’ve always tried to explore and create flavours that’s synonymous to the flavours of the Philippines and East Asia. This month, we wanted to try something new for our ice cream parlour and introduce this Filipino classic flavour to the food palette of London through the Buko Pandan Ice Cream!
Buko (tagalog for coconut) is something that isn’t new to us, we use this unique product in our Buko Pie and our Black Buko Ice Cream. How do we make it? We combine the classic Buko (shredded coconut) flavour that we serve you in our branch and simmer the pandan with milk.
What is pandan?
Pandan is a green tropical flavour that is very fragrant - tastes almost like a grassy vanilla with a hint of coconut. It definitely is the perfect flavour to treat your queen this weekend!

Do you want miss being on holiday and feel like you’re under the palm tree? We encourage everybody who hasn’t got to try this classic flavour a try for this week and treat yourself, your family, and your friends! We hope you can - join us and become part of Team Buko Pandan! (or stick to our classic Filipino flavour, Black Buko). You can avail this flavour in three ways; as a scoop, with a cone, or with our in-house crafted, bilog! If you want to take some home, this flavour is also available for takeaway as a tub!
